Adsense Information for

Adsense Abuse

Some webmasters create elaborate websites tailored just to lure searchers from Google and other engines onto their Adsense ads in order to make money from clicks. These 'zombie' sites often contain nothing but a large amount of interconnected, automated content (e.g. a directory with content from the Open Directory Project).

Possibly the most popular form of such 'Adsense farms' are splogs (spam blogs) which are centered around known high-paying keywords. Google tends to not accept blogs for the Adsense Program, here's why:

Blogs, as you know, give out a wide variety of information. One day the author could be talking about gasoline prices while another day he could be talking about computers.

The way Adsense works is that it scans your page for keywords then applies those keywords into the advertisements. Therefore, if your website is all about computers, you'll have computer-based ads and if it's about gasoline then you'll have gasoline product ads

The thing about ads is that they all have different price-per-click costs attached to them. If you have a computer ad and someone clicked on it, you might get $2 for the click. On the other hand, if you had a gasoline product site, you might only get 2 cents for each click. Blogs tend to change directions at any given moment so Google would probably ban any Adsense ads placed on those types of pages.
